RealCHL - Child Health Tape Link PDF Print E-mail

child vaccinationDo you have your work cut out when it's time to process the quarterly Child Health returns of children who have been vaccinated? Cut out the tedious paperwork with RealCHL.

RealCHL works in conjunction with the NHAIS (“Exeter”) System used by every Agency (formerly “Health Authority”), and the Child Health System supplied by McKesson. It comprises two modules - one which is run at the Trust producing the Child Health returns, and one which is run at the Agency.

Instead of spending valuable hours poring over a printed listing and manually validating the patients against the Exeter System, RealCHL produces a magnetic tape or a file from the Child Health System. Each Trust using RealCHL sends you this data, you load it and use RealCHL to read the data and perform matching against the Exeter System automatically. The entire process takes just minutes.

Seamless installation

RealCHL at the Trust end works in conjunction with the Child Health System, but does not necessitate any changes to the Child Health software - simply change a parameter on the Child Health system, and output is sent to RealCHL.

At the Agency end, RealCHL can be run either on the machine hosting the Exeter System, or on a separate machine linked to the Agency’s machine. It reads patient data from the Exeter System, but does not update any data on it.

Easy to use

RealCHL has a simple menu structure, allowing you to read in the tape, match patients and produce various useful reports.

The matching process runs in the background, freeing your terminal for other tasks.
